hey guys! i haven't made a tip or set in FOREVER. this one took me a really long time, so it would be great if you could comment and tell me what you think! the set is really bad and i look super awk in that picture but it's all about the tip, right? :)
PART ONE~ BUYING BRACELETS
POP CULTURE:
these are the bracelets that say band names, have quotes, etc.
these are great for showing off your personality! it lets people know what things you like. for example, i am a MASSIVE fan of the hunger games trilogy. so, i have a bracelet that says "may the odds be ever in your favor," which is an important quote in the book (in the picture on the left, it is the thin grey bracelet with red lettering). i also have a lady gaga bracelet because i love her music and personality!
a good place for punk/alt/rock band bracelets-

PHRASE:
these ones aren't affiliated with an artist/book/whatever, they just say funny or cute phrases. these can also show off your personality.
through Jac Vanek, you can buy ones saying anything from "legit" to "glamorous" and more!

CHARITY:
these bracelets give money to a charity when they are purchased. some popular ones are for To Write Love on Her Arms: http://www.zambooie.com/twloha/Results.tpl?cart=12987468371895465&st_id=234&category=Accessories&startat=1
and for Keep a Breast (in the left picture, the white bracelet on the bottom and the black and pink bracelet that says "check yourself!!"): http://www.loserkids.com/category-exec/category_id/189
note about the keep a breast bracelets-
these are the very controversial "I <3 BOOBIES" bracelets. they are banned in some schools. if you want to support the cause without wearing a bracelet that says "boobies" in large script, get one that says "check yourself!!" instead :)
OTHER: i’m not sure where you can find all of these, sorry!
-jelly bracelets (extremely thin, circular, rubber bracelets)
-sailor’s bracelets (thick knotted rope bracelets)
PART TWO~MAKING BRACELETS
PONY BEAD BRACELETS:
the absolute easiest kind of bracelet. all you need are some pony beads (those large, plastic beads you used as a kid) and some yarn. just tie a knot in the yarn, string on enough beads to fit around your wrist, and tie the ends together! the result is a kind of childish, chunky bracelet.
THREAD BRACELETS:
these are the typical friendship bracelets.
for all of these you need embroidery thread (like this- http://www.joann.com/joann/catalog/productdetail.jsp?CATID=cat2087&PRODID=zprd_02346237a), scissors, and tape!

once you get really good (i’ve been making them for probably 5 years now) you can try letter bracelets- http://www.billybear4kids.com/graduation/summer/friendshipBracelets/Letters.html
these are great as gifts! my friends love them :)
CLOTH BRAIDED BRACELETS:
these look kind of cool and vintage-y. you need leftover fabric, a needle, and thread.
using three strips of leftover fabric, cut them to the same length and sew them together at the top. then, braid the strips. once you run out of material, sew the end of the braid to the top of the braid to make a circle. be careful not to twist it! that would mean that the bracelet would never lie flat.
HEMP BRACELETS:
these ones look really cool and natural. you need hemp, scissors, and tape. http://beadingconcepts.com/how-to-tie-a-square-knot-hemp-jewelry
PART THREE~ LAYERING
the easiest part! just decide you want your bracelets. i like to put everything together on one arm. you could pick a color scheme, or put one on your right arm and one on your left! just pick whatever feels right and looks good in your opinion.
thanks for reading! this took me over an hour :/ if you want more tips, be sure to let me know! <3
